T.J., Jeff and I went to a sunrise concert in the desert while we were in Las Vegas. Here are some of the photos from that morning. It was so cold - but the sun was beautiful. Some of the photos below are Jeff's and the rest are T.J.'s and mine. :) These images make me so excited for the warm light of summer. [BC]
Las (Instax) Vegas
I am so blessed. That's really all I can think of when I look at these images from our trip to Las Vegas last week. I am blessed to be able to travel to awesome places (like Vegas) with my husband. I am blessed to have a friend like Jeff. Blessed to know so many incredible people in our industry that inspire me everyday. I am blessed to have the job that I have!
Here's our trip to Vegas all in Fuji Instax photos. I didn't take my digital camera out of it's bag once last week - and that was fine with me!!
Our trip started out with what seemed like the longest flight ever. By the end T.J. and Jeff were starting to look a little crazy (see below). We checked into the MGM Grand late Sunday night and were exhausted.
The next morning we headed down to check in a WPPI and walked the trade show floors for several hours. We found one new company that we are very excited to start working with!!
Monday night we dressed ourselves up and went to the Airplanes and Blazers party. It was so much fun. While I was exhausted, cause the party didn't even start until 1am Pennsylvania time, it was still a blast! The guys looked very handsome in their black suits.
We got to see a lot of people again at the party - like Sarah, Brooke and Ashley.
Here's a photo of Lara and I... and then a photo of T.J. being creepy behind Josh.
The morning after the party, at 5am, we went to a sunrise concert party - but I'll post photos of that later.
The three of us spent our afternoons walking the strip, eating (overly) expensive food and enjoying the sunshine.
On Tuesday night we all decided it would be fun to eat Ben & Jerry's ice cream. How wrong we were. We all felt awful after eating it. In fact, T.J. became very, very sick for the rest of the trip with the flu.
The stores and sky in Vegas are beautiful. I would have taken only sky photos all week, but that would have been boring for everyone but me, so I refrained.
I finally got to meet the utterly fabulous Courtney Brooke! We've been following each other for over a year now and it was so great to sit down over coffee and chat about our lives and love for photography. :)
Our trip ended with us waiting to head to the airport by laying in pool chairs at the hotel for hours.
All in all, it was a great trip. I have more photos to come later this week, so be sure to check back! Like I said before, our trip to WPPI was once again such a blessing. I came back from Vegas feeling excited and inspired for what's ahead - and that's a blessing.
Bouquets (V1)
This post has been a long time in the making. Almost three years ago, while T.J. and I were still dating, we traveled to Lynchburg, Virginia to photograph Elisha and Jeremy's wedding. I met Elisha while attending Liberty University. Lish was my RA - and room mates with my cousin, Kate. Anyway, on Elisha's wedding day, while photographing her flowers, T.J. and I had this funny idea to take a photograph of T.J. holding Lish's flowers, looking super awkward. We certainly got a good laugh out of ourselves.
Well, dozens of weddings later, the tradition continues.. and it will, probably forever. :) While preparing this blog I was laughing so hard I was starting to tear up. The images are just outrageous. No other way to describe it.
So, may this post brighten your day - and hey, maybe even give all you brides-to-be out there some bouquet inspiration! Would love you know everyone's favorite - mine is either the one where T.J. is wearing the bride's green glasses in Colorado, or where he's double-fisting the camera and bouquet. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! [BC]
Tyler & Alex
Last week I was looking through my Facebook friends and came across this beautiful, beautiful girl named Alex. I thought to myself, "I've never met her.. but we're friends. Hmm?" I then proceeded to scan through her photos and kept thinking how cute she and her boyfriend were.
On Monday night T.J. scheduled a portrait session for us to shoot. And guess who showed up at my front door!!! Alex and Tyler! :) At first I couldn't figure out why they looked so familiar, but when Alex mentioned Facebook at some point during our session, I figured it out.
Tyler gave Alex a portrait session for her birthday gift and it was so much fun. They are both super photogenic, funny and when Tyler referenced The Office, we all knew we'd be friends.
Enjoy the images. I simply love them, all. Comment! [BC]
Happy Anniversary Brooke!
Brooke and I have been married one year. I just wanted to take a few minutes to write about how wonderful she is. I know that if you follow our blog you get to see what a talented photographer she is, but that is just the tip of the iceberg and her beauty as a person goes far beyond her skill behind a camera.
She is so kind and compassionate, even when I overreact to such silly things. She is quick to forgive and forget my shortcomings and to love me with a fierce, passionate and pure love. She is beautiful and her smile lights up the room. She is good at everything, not just photography. She is a great designer, videographer, singer, she wins almost every game she plays, and she doesn’t have a victory dance like I do, she is a humble winner. She is so generous with her gift and is constantly blessing people with free photographs, videos and design work and she rarely talks about it. She just does it and doesn’t expect anything in return. She is such a strong woman of God, she loves Jesus with all her heart and it is totally evident with how she acts, speaks and lives. I could go on but I’ll stop. I just wanted everyone who follows this blog to know how lucky you are to have a glimpse into the life of such a wonderful, talented, beautiful woman.
And to Brooke- I love you and I always will. I am sorry when I am an idiot and don’t love you like I should, I will always try to improve as a husband. I wanted to write this to you as a public pledge to always love you, cherish you and enjoy my life with you. The past 365 days of my life have been the best ever. Happy Anniversary.
P.S. If you follow our blog you should leave comments because Brooke and I love when people leave comments :)
