Ryan + Kaila
Guys. I am so excited about this post. Ryan + Kaila's wedding celebration was downright beautiful and I just want to point out a few of my favorite elements.
First off, their invites were fabulous. I wish you could feel them with your own hands. Beautifully letter pressed with velvet ribbons and gold envelopes. Stunning. My favorite local florist, who I mention every time I do a wedding with her, Lori from Wildflowers by Design did the florals. I was so happy when I saw her white van pulling onto the property!! JDK handled the catering and set up and did a wonderful job, as usual. Oh! And T.J. and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting and working with Willow Tree Films!
About a month before Ryan + Kaila tied the knot, they buried a bottle of bourbon at their ceremony site. It's a southern tradition that is said to keep the rain away! After the ceremony, the bridal party dug it up and each took a drink to celebrate the beautiful weather and couple!
Kaila had a sweet "first look" moment with her Father, where he presented her with a sixpence for her shoe. I never knew that the actual tradition reads as such, "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue and a sixpence in your shoe." Who knew!? The sixpence, or penny, is meant to bring wealth and good fortune to the couple.
After a delicious meal and hours of dancing, Ryan + Kaila, along with family, ended the night by sending off wish/prayer lanterns. This always makes for beautiful images.
Hope you enjoy every image from this wedding as much as I do! -Brooke
Alex + Grace
After photographing their engagement photos, I just knew that Alex + Grace's wedding would be a fantastic day. We traveled to The Mansion at Tappan Hill, the former estate of Mark Twain just north of Manhattan. Their wedding day screamed of elegance and it showed greatly in their details. From the beautiful succulents to the amazing handcrafted paper goods, I loved everything about their day. I think my favorite part of the evening was listening to Alex's friend MC the reception. With his British accent, the jokes and wittiness combined for one of the most entertaining nights ever! Here are some of our favorites, it was so hard to narrow it down! -Jeff
Joe + Emily
I'm so excited to be back in the blogging world after my maternity leave! This wedding was the definition of perfection and the best way to start up again. The vendors could not have been better, the weather could not have been more beautiful and the bride and groom could not have been more attractive. It was a photographers dream!
I met Joe + Emily when I took their engagement pictures last year and just knew their wedding would be a good time. From the moment Kristen and I arrived everyone was so sweet and relaxed. The excitement for Joe + Emily was contagious and the way these two look at each other is something special. From when Emily walked down the aisle, to their vows, to their first dance you could just feel the love and raw emotion they share.
We want to thank Joe + Emily for allowing Kristen and I to be a small part of their special day!
-Liz
